About Carolina Luxe Interiors

My journey into interior decorating didn’t begin as a business plan… it began as a personal experience that completely changed how I viewed home design.

In 2017, my husband and I moved from a high-rise condo into a home in the suburbs. While I had always loved decorating and creating inviting spaces, life was busy. I was working full-time and expecting our first child, and I wanted our new home to feel amazing from the very beginning. To help bring that vision to life, we hired an interior designer.

I really enjoyed working with our designer, but the one part of the process that I never could wrap my head around was that everything was custom ordered. That meant I couldn’t try anything before actually committing to it. I couldn’t sit on a sofa, feel the fabric, or experience how a piece actually lived in a space. I remember wishing I could simply walk into Pottery Barn, sit down on a couch, and know exactly how it felt before buying it!

Regardless, our designer had wonderful ideas and a clear vision, and although the price tag was hefty, I trusted the process.

When everything was finished, our home looked beautiful!

But over the next 6-12 months, something surprising happened… I slowly started replacing almost everything.

The custom couch we were told we just had to have? It wasn’t comfortable, and I never wanted to sit on it. I eventually replaced it with one I found at (surprise!) Pottery Barn that better fit our lifestyle. The custom chairs we commissioned in a stunning ikat pattern (sold to me as something none of my neighbors or friends would ever own because it was custom) appeared just a few months later in a Ballard Design catalog in the exact same fabric.

That experience sparked a realization: great design doesn’t have to mean overspending.

In addition to furniture, I began sourcing decor pieces myself from places like HomeGoods and Target, styling rooms in ways that felt both elevated and livable. Guests constantly complimented our home, and I realized I could achieve the same (or even better!) results at a fraction of the cost by mixing smart sourcing with thoughtful styling.

Fast forward a year later, I was spending more time at home now with 2 babies and experiencing firsthand how important organization becomes for busy professionals and families balancing full lives. I’ve always been naturally organized, but this stage of life reinforced that intentional systems are the foundation of a well-functioning home. I truly believe organization and design go hand in hand… when everything has a place, a home feels calmer, more efficient, and easier to enjoy.

Soon, friends began asking for help with decorating and organizing their own homes. As I worked with more people, I recognized a gap in the design world: many homeowners want a beautifully designed space but don’t have — or want — a luxury designer budget.

And so, in 2022, Carolina Luxe Interiors was born.

Today, I help clients transform their homes through approachable, personalized decorating and home organization services. My goal is to create spaces that feel luxurious, comfortable, organized, and uniquely yours, without unnecessary markups or pressure to overspend.

Because great design isn’t about how much you spend. It’s about how your home makes you feel.

XOXO
